Thomas Lawrence Long, emeritus professor of the University of Connecticut, is a medievalist manqué, having “small Latine, and lesse Greeke.” Nonetheless, he is returning to his scholarly roots in a study of Middle English lyric poetry.
His leisure time is spent tending a garden of flowers and herbs, singing in choruses, reading, and thinking deep thoughts. And writing screeds about people who vex him.
